NATURAL ENERGY DRINK RECIPE

  • Filtered Distilled water 12 oz. (or freshly brewed black tea – any type, must be black… chai tastes the best to me)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tsp.
  • Ginger (fresh!) minced dime-sized chunk
  • Cayenne 1/8 tsp.
  • Cinnamon 1/2 tsp.
  • Organic Honey 2 tsp.
  • Juice of 1 Lemon wedge squeezed into glass

Combine all ingredients in a glass.  (I shake these in a blender bottle) then strain over ice.  You could use a martini shaker or blender, too, if you want.

Play with these proportions until you find a mix that tastes good to you.  Be careful with the ginger!!  It’s potent.

BLACK TEA

Using black tea is optional BUT if you want an extra energizing kick-in-the-pants, I’d recommend using it. An 8-ounce cup of black tea provides 60 to 90 milligrams of caffeine — about half the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee… but won’t give you the tired-yet-wired feeling because unlike coffee tea doesn’t have any mycotoxins (aka an inflammatory microfungus/mold). There are many varieties, such as Chai and black tea blends such as Earl Gray or English Breakfast. Avoid using flavored teas to make this energy drink. Flavored teas have chemicals that can make you crash.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

Raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar helps maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Although acidic outside of the body, ACV is alkalizing in the body.  Research shows that higher acid levels lead to a lack of energy.  The alkalizing effect of the ACV will help you get natural energy.

GINGER
